Rockmont’s Target Sports program is built on a foundation of safety, skill development, and excitement. Under the close supervision of trained instructors, campers learn proper technique and responsible handling in Air Riflery, Archery, Riflery, and Trap Shooting. With a strong emphasis on firearm safety and respect, each discipline challenges campers to focus, improve their accuracy, and build confidence in a controlled and supportive environment. Whether hitting a bullseye with a bow or breaking a clay target in the air, the thrill of target sports is both rewarding and fun.
Target Sport Skills
Air Riflery
(10 Years & Under)
Working with BB guns, campers learn the basics of gun handling, range safety, and shooting techniques. Find out who’s the best shot with exciting targets such as rubber ducks and army figurines.
Archery
(9+ Years)
Using compound bows, campers will learn the age-old skill of Archery. Starting with bow safety, and working through proper stance, shot, and breathing techniques, campers will have the opportunity to develop the skills required to progress through the ranks of this exciting skill.
Riflery
(11+ Years)
Working with .22 caliber rifles, campers will learn gun safety, range safety, gun handling, and shooting techniques. Throughout the skill, campers will be able to develop skill progression in each shooting position: laying, sitting, and standing. At the end of the session they will be able to bring home their target sheet to hang on the family fridge.
Trap Shooting
(13+ Years)
Working with 20 gauge shotguns, campers will learn gun safety, range safety, gun handling, and shooting techniques. Throughout the session, campers will track their progress and test their technique with clay targets. When signing up please choose one of the following levels of experience:
- Level 1 – never or has rarely fired a shotgun
- Level 2 – experienced and comfortable using a shotgun.
Additional Charge for Trap Shooting: $150 for a Two Week Session, $225 for June Camp or Main Camp.
