It had been 679 days since the last true Rockmont Opening Day.
Even though Opening Day looked a little different – with parents staying in cars and extra paperwork to drop off – it was incredible to see families come through the gates once again! With each car that rounded the corner by the dining hall, Bear Campers were greeted with a cacophony of excitement from the Bear Camp staff.
You could see the “is this all for me?” look in each camper’s eye as they drove up.
You could even hear the explosive yells all the way down on the lower soccer field (where we had the check-in process set up). And every time you heard a yell, you could see the check-in staff smile. And on that note, we want to give a big thanks to all the families who made sure to have their 8-day Health Monitoring form and COVID test results ready to go! It was because of this that check-in was a smooth, steady stream of cars.

You are welcome here.
As I sit in my office typing this, I hear Starter Week campers running around for a scavenger hunt, Adventure Week campers playing a game of capture the flag, and Base campers packing for the campout.
… I think I may go join a cabin on the scavenger hunt!
