“Build your hopes on things eternal. Hold to God’s unchanging hand.”
Being together on Sunday mornings at camp church is a wonderful thing.
This morning, all three camps gathered together to sing and remind one another of the love and life that God has for us in this world.
We’ve all come to camp from many different places and Christian traditions. These influence and impact who we are, and coming together at camp church to celebrate one God and one faith is beautiful to witness.
I heard these lyrics from an old camp song, today, that I think make an impact on who we are both here at camp and when we go home.
Building our hopes on things eternal and holding to God’s unchanging hand means choosing the bigger things in life, and camp is a wonderful place to engage in it all.
Things like kindness, hope, friendship, humility, and justice are explored all throughout the Rockmont experience, and when we come together for camp church — we get to celebrate these things.
These things aren’t easy, and that’s why they’re big.
We know that these boys and young men are up for it, and for as much as we get it right or get it wrong along the way, it’s important to come back together and be reminded of who we are.
We are people who wish to live deliberately.
For all that we’ll see, encounter, and become in this last week of camp we give thanks, and we celebrate!

It makes my heart so happy to read the camp updates. Hearing about the boys coming together for camp church, going on challenging hikes, sleeping in the woods, discovering in new ways Gods glorious creation, all while having a blast! What a beautiful gift for every boy who goes into Camp Rockmont and comes home an even finer young man. THANK YOU to ALL who make that happen!
