Cabin Devotion Readings for Classic 4

Shawn Marler August 6, 2018

There are so many voices speaking into our lives. We are a culture that’s oversaturated by messaging, coming at us from a variety of people and organizations while taking a myriad of forms. And so we consider it a great privilege that you would allow us to partner in your son’s development – to be another voice speaking into his life.

It is a sacred opportunity, and I believe our staff sense that truth as we engage the biblical story with your children each morning and evening. There’s a richness to the fact that our first word of the day (Morning Watch) and our last word of the day (Cabin Devotions) come from Scripture. Our day is book-ended with time in God’s Word.

For the evening Cabin Devotions, in particular, we are all being held in the same story each night. We regularly ask these two questions in our evening devotions: (1) Where do you connect with the story? and (2) What’s the good news? You would be surprised how these two questions ignite conversation within the cabin, as campers begin to see that the biblical story is their story, too.

And so we wanted to share with you the evening devotion readings, in case you would like to follow along at home or follow-up with your son about devotions when he returns. We look forward to that opportunity once again in each cabin this evening as campers circle up to find themselves together in God’s big story.
