Skills at Camp Rockmont

Skills at Rockmont are all about discovery, growth, and adventure. Whether scaling a rock face, crafting a leather project, or perfecting a jump shot, campers engage in hands-on learning that builds confidence and character. Our age-progressive skill programs allow boys to develop their abilities over time, gaining new challenges as they grow. Each camper selects their top six skill choices before camp and is placed in five, with the flexibility to make changes in the first few days. With expert guidance, exciting challenges, and plenty of fun, Rockmont’s skill offerings create the perfect environment for learning, exploration, and lifelong memories. Skills take place either in the mornings (Skills 1, 2, & 3) or in the afternoons (Skill 4 & 5), except for on all skills days.

Tribal & Evening Activities

At Rockmont, the excitement doesn’t stop with skills—our Tribal & Evening Activities bring campers together for unforgettable games, challenges, and adventures. Each day, tribes (age groups) gather for thrilling activities designed just for them, from epic games of capture the flag and dodgeball to intramural competitions, slip’n’slides, waterfront adventures, and themed big games. These activities are age-progressive, ensuring that every camper experiences the right level of challenge and excitement. Led by the Tribal Director and counselors, Tribal Activities foster teamwork, camaraderie, and all-out fun, creating memories that last long after the game ends.

As the sun sets over the mountains, Rockmont’s Evening Activities bring the perfect mix of fun, connection, and winding down after an adventurous day. Hosted by tribes, these activities range from spirited intramural games and capture the flag to night swims, movie nights, and even special guests like magicians. Evening Activites also can include full-camp event like a songfest at Evening Watch or Fireside, where stories and music create a meaningful close to the day. Whether filled with competition, laughter, or reflection, Evening Activities set the stage for friendships to deepen and the camp spirit to shine.
