Health and Safety

We are excited to have you and your son(s) joining us for one of our Father/Son Weekends in 2021! It’s always a transformative weekend as we devote time to these relationships that really matter. It’s also incredibly fun! This year’s Father/Son Weekends will be unique in light of the COVID-19 pandemic and will involve a few changes to the way we do things. Of these changes, all of them have been practiced and honed during our Family Retreats this last summer and have empowered families to continue to have a great time together.

What exactly is different?

  • Group Gatherings: 1). This year we’ll have outdoor morning watches. 2). We’ll be doing a fun family-based scavenger hunt all around camp, instead of our usual shirt-tail-tag games. 3). We’ll have an under-the-stars viewing of the FSW slideshow at our outdoor movie theater following council Saturday night.
  • Evening Snacks & Games: We’ll be offering board game check-out from the Roundhouse during snack time each evening, instead of playing together in Eden Hall.
  • Skills: Skill offerings haven’t changed! In fact, we’ve even lowered some age restrictions. What is different is that capacities will be adjusted to promote social-distancing, masks are required at skill sites, and we ask that you stay with your cabin (family) group. You can sign up for your skills ahead of time, here.
  • Cabin Assignments: Due to Covid-19 restrictions and guidelines, cabin mate requests for Father/Son weekends are a bit different this year. Each father/son family unit will be staying in a cabin by themselves, with the exception of families who have already been quarantining together. However, we will work to honor cabin mate requests by placing two different family units, who would like to be near each other, in cabins that are next to each other/close by!
