Since 2011 Camp Rockmont has hosted Father/Son Weekends for sons ages 6 to 16 and their fathers. We’ve also had some grandfathers join the fun! These have been very successful, with great fun and special moments that strengthen the bond between fathers and sons. During Father/Son Weekends, attendees will get to enjoy classic Rockmont activities and skills like: Archery, Riflery, Rock Climbing, Blacksmithing, Kayaking, the Rockmont Waterfront, large group games, a Rockmont Council, and so much more! Fathers & sons also participate in gatherings where our staff facilitate discussions about fatherhood (for fathers), and about the gifts of growing up (for sons)!

Everyone has a blast just being at camp, however the real gift for both fathers and sons has been the opportunity to spend time together. We hope you can join us for this unforgettable weekend.

Are you ready for the next adventure with your son?

Father/Son Weekend High School Track

Available to High School sons and their fathers during our second Father/Son Weekend (Thursday, Oct. 3rd – Sunday Oct. 6th)

Ready for your next adventure as a Father & Son? Join us for the Father/Son High School Track!

This new program is a chance to embrace adventure with your son during this important time in their life, alongside other fathers and sons in the same season. While this group will engage in much of what Father/Son weekend has been about for more than a decade, there are new elements during this weekend that meet these high schoolers and their fathers at the intersection of what is challenging and enriching about the journey of becoming a young man. Read more below about what your high schooler and their father can expect during the High School Track of Father/Son!

  • Stay with the other High School Track Father/Son pairs in cabins on the Sycamore Quad – a space with some of our newest cabins and ample room for fellowship.
  • A unique Friday Adventure Trip available only to this group.
  • Following Friday’s adventure trip, a cookout at the quad!
  • Collaborate as a Father/Son team to build and maintain a fire with materials that are naturally available to you.
  • Exclusive Saturday Skill periods including: Blacksmithing, Archery, and Trap Shooting
  • Intentional collaborative sessions discussing the nature of the father/son relationship during this time in the son’s life as he transitions into manhood.
  • Light the Way to the Father/Son Council and participate in a special meeting following council.
  • JUMP IN! A cold plunge in the lake on Sunday Morning to cap-off the experience!

Don’t miss this incredible and unique opportunity for a weekend of meaningful adventure and conversation with your High School son that he will remember for the rest of his life!
