Staff—Overview

Camp Rockmont for Boys is a privately operated Christian summer camp. We operate two, three, and four-week sessions to provide a well-rounded camping experience for boys ages 7 to 16. Rockmont hires over 150 individuals for each summer season to work with our campers. While we hire both young men and young women and do not discriminate with regard to race, preference is given to former staff with strong evaluations.

Our primary need for the summer is for college age males to serve as cabin counselors. New applicants will need to submit a full application and will be interviewed by one of the year-round directors. In addition to cabin responsibilities, counselors assist in instructing various skills.

Strength & Gentleness, Force & Refinement, Mastery of Body, and Servitude to God

Rockmont values the role it has in preparing young men to meet the challenges that lie ahead by encouraging positive traits in their personalities at an early age. The sound physical, social and spiritual development of each boy is Rockmont's top priority. We feel each boy's development in these areas can best be accomplished in a Christian community with positive role models. A summer camp experience can have a strong influence on a young man's life, and each staff member helps determine how positive this impact will be. Employment at camp involves hard work, long hours, and selflessness. Staff members learn the meaning of patience and understanding as they experience the role of mentor.
